An anti-terrorism court on Wednesday recorded partial statement of Ihtisham brother of one of the victims and adjourned the proceedings in Sahiwal encounter case to September 13.

Four people include a teenage girl and her parents along with their neighbor Zeeshan driving the car where shot dead. Muhammad Khalil, his wife and their three children were traveling in a car when personnel of Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) intercepted the vehicle and opened fire on the passengers suspecting them terrorists. Two minor siblings of Khalil namely Umair and Muneeba had survived the attack. The CTD officials claimed that they had information that Zeeshan had links with a terrorist outfit.

The officials also claimed that all the victims were killed in an 'encounter', however, their claim turned out to be false after the two minor children narrated some facts of the incident to public.

Initially the trial was conducted in Sahiwal; however, the Lahore High Court allowed the application of victim family and shifted the proceedings to Lahore. Previously, brother Jalil and two minor children of Khalil had recorded their statements before the court.
