The Lahore Administration on Monday commenced three-day anti-polio drive in which 1.8 million children will be administered with polio drops. In this connection, Deputy Commissioner Lahore Saleha Saeed visited a nomadic locality adjacent to River Ravi where she administered polio drops to under five years children and checked the working of polio teams.

On the occasion, she said that the drive will continue till August 29 and as many as 5000 polio teams are in the field with a tight security. She appointed officers of district administration to monitor the drive at UC level.

Moreover, she also visited Aik Moria Pull and observed the construction of a road and listened to the problems faced by the citizens of the area.

Later, she chaired a meeting relating to arrangements for the month of Muharram. She directed the allied departments to forthwith start patch work, removal of encroachment and hanging wires from the route of processions. She also listened to the issues of license holders and instructed officers to resolve their problems at the earliest.
