The Punjab police by incorporating modules of moral values, ethics and public dealing have launched 'book D' for the police training course. "Provision of ethics and contemporary trainings is my top priority for which the syllabus of Punjab police is being upgraded in accordance with the contemporary measures. Especially, the modules of morality, ethics and public dealings have been made part of this upgraded course," said Punjab IGP Arif Nawaz Khan at the launching ceremony of "book D" at the Police Training College Lahore on Thursday.

He said community policing has been founded in Punjab and it is the responsibility of every officer and official that they should help their community with good behaviour, ethics and dutifulness so that the prestige of the department may be enhanced.

According to the IG, trainers should keep their trainee officers aware of the importance of community policing and also making clear to them that they should be careful while dealing with citizens. Mostly, police remain in contact with law-abiding citizens. And if any officer inspects 100 people, then almost 95 people are found law-abiding and for their own protection of lives and properties, the process of checking is ensured, he added.

"The officers who compiled the syllabus of book D deserve appreciation and I am well aware of the fact that this was a very tough task because no such book was present in the syllabus before. I hope that this book will be helpful in the training of newly-recruited sub-inspectors and assistant sub-inspectors," concluded the IGP.
