CSR activist for Thalassemia Eradication from Pakistan, Ateeq Ur Rehman has urged the Prime Minister Imran Khan to direct officials concerns in the federal and provincial governments to undertake effective awareness campaigns to eliminate fatal blood disorder thalassemia disease from Pakistan.

Prime Minister Imran khan concerns about spike in polio cases are well founded where he stressed that it is federal government foremost priority to eradicate polio from Pakistan, he said.

He added that with this Prime Minister Imran Khan is also requested to be worried about the rise in the fatal blood disorder thalassemia in Pakistan and make it government's priority to eradicate thalassemia from Pakistan.

Ateeq appreciated and applauded the government health care scheme like Sehat Insaf Card and urged to include cover of thalassemic patients in Sehat Insaf Card.

He mentioned that previously announced Sehat Sahulat Programme is quite encouraging where health insurance scheme for the poor is offered.

The recipient of this scheme is entitled free of charge healthcare to indoor health care services worth Rs 720,000 per year. Ateeq urged that state and government realising the responsibility should provide health coverage to thalassemics for meeting their expensive medicines and health care.
