Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) launched its android application regarding digitized books here in Lahore College for Women University (LCWU) on Tuesday. Text books from level one to intermediate will be available online through this app. Dr Atta Ur Rehman, head Prime Minister's Task Force on IT & Telecom was the chief guest.

Dr Farkhanda Manzoor vice chancellor LCWU, principal Mahrukh Bukhari and DG PITB were also present. This event was a series of events held at LCWU in reference to eLearn Project of PITB. Keeping in view the IT vision of Government of Punjab and a practical step towards a knowledge economy, eLearn Punjab is a project of PITB which has developed digital content for (Grade 4-12) which is freely available on the website: https://elearn.punjab.gov.pk/ and eLearn app is also available on Google Play store.

Programme officer PITB Mahnoor told that there are 28 Science and Maths textbooks of PCTB related to Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Maths have been digitized on a priority basis. Digital Content means textbook of PCTB augmented with Videos, Animations, Simulations, Audios, and Assessments.

e-Learn Punjab is a project of PITB sponsored by the School Education Department. The project aims to develop and implement digital interactive free textbooks in collaboration with Punjab Curriculum and textbook board (PCTB).

Up till now the digital content of science and math of grade 4 to 12 is available on the website: elearn.punjab.gov.pk and also available on the newly launched eLearn android app. After the success of eLearn android app with 100k installations, eLearn is all set to implement its content at one of the best Government colleges in Lahore.
