Saudi foreign minister is said to have described Iran as 'world's chief sponsor of terrorism'. According to media reports, Saudi minister for foreign affairs Adel al-Jubeir strongly criticised Iran, described it "the world's chief sponsor of terrorism." "How Iran, which is world's chief sponsor of terrorism can accuse others of engaging in terrorist activities... I found it very strange that the foreign minister [of Iran] of world's chief sponsor of terrorism to accuse...," the foreign minister is quoted as saying. That Saudi Arabia and Iran are two top players in the Middle East theatre competing for influence is a fact. In other words, both the Islamic countries are among the top powers in the region. Both are seeking to expand their influence in the region. The leaderships of the two countries is required to come to the negotiating table in order to find out viable solutions to their bilateral disputes.
