The Karachi Port handled 170,945 tonnes of cargo comprising 130,513 tonnes of import cargo and 40,432 tonnes of export cargo including 8,849 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Thursday. The total import cargos of 130,513 tonnes comprised of 67,773 tonnes of containerised cargo; 7,915 tonnes of bulk cargo; 8,006 tonnes of rock phosphate and 46,819 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.

The total export cargos of 40,432 tonnes comprised of 18,549 tonnes of containerised cargo; 12,250 tonnes of clinker; 7,616 tonnes of cement and 2,017 tonnes of rice. As many as 8,849 containers comprising of 5,033 containers import and 3,816 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Thursday.

The breakup of imported containers shows 1,339 of 20's and 1,748 of 40's loaded while nil of 20's and 99 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 448 of 20's and 243 of 40's loaded containers while 1,006 of 20's and 938 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours. There were five ships namely Kota Karim, Clemens Schulte, CMA CGM Rigoletto, Navios Galileo and Chang Hang Cang Hai carrying containers, mogas and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.

There were seven vessels viz. CMA CGM Mumbai, CMA CGM Rigoletto, MT Karachi, Tiger Tenacity, Tabernacle Prince, Ocean Feather and Rattana Naree carrying containers, oil tanker, cement and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.

PORT QASIM


A cargo volume of 205,974 tonnes comprising 154,446 tonnes of import cargo and 51,528 tonnes of export cargo including 3,236 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Thursday.

The total import cargo of 154,446 tonnes includes 49,800 tonnes of LNG; 6,340 tonnes of palm oil; 4,410 tonnes of LPG; 12,756 tonnes of soyabean seeds; 70,500 tonnes of coal and 10,640 tonnes of containerised cargo.

The total export cargo of 51,528 tonnes includes 684 tonnes of rice and 50,844 tonnes of containerised cargo.

As many as 3,236 containers comprising of 560 containers import and 2,676 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Thursday.

There were two ships namely CV MSC Maria Elena and MT Caspian Gas carrying containers and LPG respectively sailed out to sea on Thursday morning, while four more ships namely MV Sea Magic, MV Observator, MV Nord Chesapeake and MT Lokaja carrying rice, coal and LNG respectively are expected to sail on the same day afternoon. A total number of twelve vessels were occupied berths to load/offload containers, rice, coal, soyabean seeds, palm kernel, LPG, LNG, diesel oil and palm oil respectively at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.

As many as fifteen vessels viz. MV Reem-3, MV Gao Yu-2, MV Spar Rigel, MV Trammo Stanton, MV Ocean Enterprise, MV Port Macau, MV Nord Copper, MV Lietta, MV Pacific Activity, MV Apastarea, MV Ocean Rose, MT Tomson Gas, MT Gao Cheng-3, MT Chemroad Nova and MT Maritime Gisela respectively carrying bitumen, steel product, canola seeds, coal, LPG, diesel oil and palm oil were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.

There were seven vessels viz. CV Torrente, CV Hansa America, MV Reem-3, MV Trammo Stanton, MV Apastarea, MV Ocean Enterprise and MT Tomson Gas carrying containers, bitumen, steel products, coal and LPG respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal, Pakistan International Bulk Terminal and SSGC LPG Terminal respectively on Thursday

There are two ships namely CV Torrente and CV Hansa America carrying containers due to arrive on Thursday, while another ship namely CV CMA CGM Rigoletto carrying containers due to arrive on Friday.
