A delegation from presidents of Women Chambers of Commerce and Industry across Pakistan called on Advisor on Commerce, Textile Industry & Production and Investment, Abdul Razak Dawood and discussed different proposals to promote women entrepreneurship in the country.

The delegation appreciated pro-business initiatives of the current government especially the economic support package i.e. the Finance Bill 2019. They requested support of Ministry of Commerce to enhance women participation in exhibitions at national and international levels.

They informed that women entrepreneurs were interested in exploring business opportunities in the non traditional markets which required special support from the government. They proposed that TDAP should add more expos to its annual calendar. "In order to encourage handicrafts in Southern Punjab, Trade Development Authority of Pakistan should hold an expo in Bahawalpur," said President of Bahawalpur Chamber, says a press release issued here on Thursday.

Abdul Razak Dawood said the government was determined to adopt policies that would enhance women participation in business especially in export sector. "The government is considering proposals to provide additional support to the woman entrepreneur especially in SMEs," he added.

He said the government was focusing on socio-economic empowerment of women by encouraging women entrepreneurs in the field of business and commercial activities. The adviser to the prime minister on commerce assured the delegates from women chambers that government will deploy policies that help women to excel in the field of entrepreneurship leading to economic well-being.-PR
