Members of the Sharif family, former president of Pakistan Mamnoon Hussain and leaders of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) met Nawaz Sharif at Kot Lakhpat Jail on Thursday. Among those who met Nawaz Sharif were Maryam Nawaz, Hamza Shahbaz Sharif, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Mushahid Hussain Syed and others. They remained with Nawaz Sharif for some time and prayed for his good health and well being.

Talking to media outside the Kot Lakhpat prison, Mamnoon Hussain said they came to show confidence in Nawaz Sharif who was facing health issue. Sources said the former president had to wait for the meeting with Nawaz Sharif. Mamnoon was searched from point to point and he was taken off the car and made to walk to the prison, the sources said.

During the meeting, Nawaz Sharif was critical about the treatment meted to Mamnoon Hussain at the prison. Nawaz Sharif is in the Kot Lakhpat Jail since December 2018 following his conviction in a corruption reference in line with the Supreme Court's July 2017 verdict.

Speaking to media outside prison, the former Sindh governor said the PTI is playing a very dangerous game in Sindh. "These types of steps will have a dangerous result. Their leader is telling them to imprison Murad Ali Shah," he said.
