The Karachi Port handled 186,373 tonnes of cargo comprising 137,608 tonnes of import cargo and 48,765 tonnes of export cargo including 9,212 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Friday. The total import cargos of 137,602 tonnes comprised of 74,030 tonnes of containerised cargo; 15,405 tonnes of bulk cargo; 2,580 tonnes of canola; 9,793 tonnes of soya bean seeds and 35,800 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.

The total export cargos of 48,765 tonnes comprised of 43,770 tonnes of containerised cargo; 360 tonnes of bulk cargo 4,491 tonnes of rice and 1,730 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 9,212 containers comprising of 4,646 containers import and 4,566 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday.

The breakup of imported containers shows 1,945 of 20's and 1,258 of 40's loaded while 23 of 20's and 81 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 1,366 of 20's and 556 of 40's loaded containers while 570 of 20's and 759 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.

There were two ships namely Xin Xia Men, and Seaspan Yangtze sailed out to sea during the reported period. There were three vessels viz. CMA CGM Butterfly, MOL Globe, and Breeze carrying containers and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.

PORT QASIM


A cargo volume of 130,799 tonnes comprising 102,489 tonnes of import cargo and 28,310 tonnes of export cargo including 3,376 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Friday.

The total import cargo of 102,489 tonnes includes 35,834 tonnes of containerised cargo; 14,169 tonnes of diesel oil; 1,100 tonnes of palm oil; 37,540 tonnes of coal; 1,450 tonnes of LPG; 10,000 tonnes of canola seeds and 2,396 tonnes of bitumen. The total export cargo of 28,310 tonnes includes 28,310 tonnes of containerised cargo.

A total number of 3,376 containers (TEUs),(1,886 TEUs imports and 1,490 TEUs exports)was hadledat the Port during last 24 hours.

There were four ships namely Kriti Amber, Clayton -II, Gao Yu-5 and OOCL Washington sailed out to on Friday morning, while four more ships namely Venture Dyton, Serentas-N,White Purl,and MearskBentonevileare expected to sail on same day9today in the afternoon).

A total number of twelve vessels were currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, coal, canola seeds, bitumen, LPG, palm oil and diesel oil respectively during the last 24 hours.

As many as twenty one ships namely Pacific Activity, Alani, Ufllo, Globe Trotter, Port Canton, Star Crimson, Beila, Lila, Green Wich, GNG Concord, Vita Ocean, SITC Zhong Shan, Bhat Ravi, Sexta, CS Fabulous, Buna Alamada, Chemroad Hope, Maritime Eagle, UACC Muhomoc and Tomson Gas and Caspian Gas carrying Coal, soyabean, Soyabean seeds, chemicals, Palm Kemal, Palm oil, and LPG respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.

There were six vessels viz. CMA CGM Butterfly, MSC Elsa, Sexta Port Canton, Tomson Gas, and Crvdel carrying containers, Palm Kemel, coal, LPG and chemical respectively expected to take berths at QICT, MW-2, M-4, SSGC and EVTL respectively on Friday 11th JANUARY2019.

There are two ships namely Safmaine Ngami and Diyala with containers are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Saturday, 12th January 2019.
