Sindh High Court (SHC) on Wednesday sought the master plan of Karachi from Sindh Building Control Authority (SCBA) and ordered to submit it on January 18, 2019.

SHC's bench headed by Justice Shafi Mohammad Siddiqui issued these orders in petition, seeking stoppage of operation against the marriage halls, constructed on amenity plots in the city.

Petitioner Kamran Khan moved the court against the operation targeted against the marriage halls and submitted that a marriage hall was constructed in Orangi Town Sector 13 after the approval of Master Plan Department.

He stated that the SCBA wanted to demolish the marriage hall despite being approved by the department concerned.

Justice Siddiqui stated that the apex court had issued orders to demolish the marriage halls constructed on amenity plots and observed that how high court can overrule the decision of Supreme Court.

He questioned how the operation against the marriage halls constructed on amenity plots can be halted in the presence of orders of apex court and stated that operation against the encroachment in the city should continue.

The bench directed the SCBA to submit the master plan of the city on January 18, 2019 by putting off the haring of the case.
