Deputy Inspector General of Police (Operations) Muhammad Waqas Nazir has said that the character verification and certification branch of the Lahore police have issued 37,210 certificates to the citizens during the year of 2018.

In a statement issued on Friday, the DIG said they are providing welfare-oriented services to the citizens along with purging the criminals from society.

The character certification branch is functioning under the supervision of SP Security Lahore Faisal Shahzad which has issued 321 online certificates to citizens during the last one-and-half month, he added.

"Lahore police is providing these services at DIG Operations Lahore Office, e-Khidmat Centre Town Hall, facilitation centers of Gulberg, Iqbal Town, Hall Raod, Bhatti Gate and Irfa Karim center respectively. We are also taking measures to extend the scope of these services to the divisional SP's offices so that citizens belonging to far-flung areas would be able to get their certificates from their nearest facilitation center," added the DIG.
