"To prevent Karachi from encroachment in future, there must have to be a comprehensive master plan and implementation of rules and regulations," he emphasised, speaking at the inaugural ceremony of Pakistan Lifestyle Furniture Expo at the Expo Centre.
The Governor said that Karachi Mayor require Rs 200 million for removal of debris piled up due to the current anti-encroachment drive in the city. "Government of Sindh and Mayor should work out modalities for removal of debris and garbage in the larger interest of the citizens and city," he urged.
He further said that meaningful talks with the Sindh Government regarding Green Line Project were under way. He expressed hope the Green Line buses would be plying in Karachi within next 4 to 6 months.
The Governor reiterated he was working as a bridge between the Federation and Province and playing his constitutional and legal role in the interest of the province and the country.
He appreciated the standard and quality of locally manufactured furniture. He said the furniture industry with its huge potential was capable to expand it to the international market, speedily. He said present government would extend all the possible assistance to the furniture industry in increasing the volume of exports.
