Speaking to the participants, the IG said that training process is underway to enable the IOs to achieve the target of training 10,000 investigating officers within next three to four months. "The master trainers will impart modern training to the IOs on using of IT gadgets and other weapons," he added. He also declared that the investigation officers who cannot write "zimni" (supplementary statement of accused) will not be able to perform their duties in investigation section.
Additional IGP Training Punjab Tariq Masood Yasin said the master trainers were given training about collection of evidence including crime scene, finger prints, DNA testing, geo-fencing, geo-mapping, call record analysis and use of software in call record besides other technologies.
Lahore Commandant Police Training College DIG Mirza Faran Baig said special lectures of highly-professional persons of the Punjab Forensic Science Agency (PFSA), Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), Prosecution Punjab and the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) have been arranged for the IOs.
Later, the IG distributed from Rs 5,000 to Rs 20,000 cash prize among every trainee whereas Commandant Police Training College DSP Khalid Saeed and Inspector Legal Aslam Shehzad were given cash prize of Rs 100,000 each for their extraordinary performance.
