Wall Street stocks rallied on Wednesday afternoon, shaking off four straight routs following strong retail sales data and White House reassurances that Fed Chair Jay Powell won't be fired. Near 2005 GMT, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was at 22,453.74, up more than 650 points or three percent in a rebound that analysts attributed in part to technical factors after days of selling. The broad-based S&P 500 rose 3.1 percent to 2,423.01, while the tech-rich Nasdaq Composite Index surged 4.0 percent to 6,437.62.
