Rain-thunderstorm with gusty winds is likely to batter upper parts of the country in the next 24 hours, the Met Office said on Thursday. It said that Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Kohat, Bannu, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha and Faisalabad Divisions, besides Islamabad, Fata, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan are likely to receive isolated rain-thundershower with gusty winds on Friday.

Mainly hot and dry weather is expected in the most parts of the country. However, temperature in Karachi is likely to range up to 36 degrees Celsius with a maximum 75 percent humidity. Overall partly cloudy and humid weather is likely to grip the city on Friday and Saturday.

Over the past 24 hours, the country's most parts remained with hot and dry with an isolated rain-thundershower and gusty winds in Malakand, Hazara, D I Khan, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Bahawalpur Divisions, Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir. Chakwal received maximum 26mm of rainfall, Noorpurthal 25mm, Kakul 23mm, Bahawalnagar 20mm, Rawalakot 12mm, Sargodha (City 14mm, Airport 11 mm), Bhakkar 10mm, Bahawalpur City 9 mm, Joharabad and Islamabad (Saidpur) 7mm, each, Bagrote 6mm, Sialkot Airport, Muzaffarabad, and Toba Tek Singh 5mm, each.

Sibbi sizzled with 49 degrees Celsius, Nokkundi 47, Dadu 46, Turbat, Jacobabad and Rohri 45, each during the day.
