All newly manufactured motor cycles as well as those already in use across Karachi will necessarily be installed with tracking device by early next year. This was agreed during a meeting chaired by Sindh Home Minister, Sohail Anwar Khan Sial here on Wednesday to review the pace of work aimed at ensuring security and safety of the lives as well as property of the local motorcyclists.

The meeting was also attended by representatives of motor cycle manufacturers association, trekking companies, provincial Police and Excise departments respectively; Pakistan Rangers Sindh and Citizen Police Liaison Committee Sindh reviewed the progress made in the exercise during last few months. It was observed with satisfaction, that as per directives of the home minister, the objective was needed to be accomplished through consensus among all concerned stakeholders.

Minister Anwar Khan Sial addressing the meeting said the trekking device was crucial to contain criminal elements as not only unassuming motor cyclists are easy targets of the snatchers but the two wheel vehicle is also largely used in criminal activities. "Elimination of criminals and their touts is among our top most priorities," said the home minister.
