The Karachi Port handled 239,235 tonnes of cargo comprising 153,274 tonnes of import cargo and 85,961 tonnes of export cargo including 2,370 loaded and empty containers during the last 48 hours ending at 0700 hours on Monday. The total import cargos of 153,274 tonnes comprised of 63,190 tonnes of containerised cargo; 22,795 tonnes of DPA; 1,425 tonnes of soyabean seeds; 1,194 tonnes of yellow peas and 62,076 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.

The total export cargos of 85,961 tonnes comprised of 55,972 tonnes of containerised cargo; 337 tonnes of bulk cargo; 23,652 tonnes of clinkers and 6,000 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.

As many as 2,370 containers comprising of 1,478 containers import and 892 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday.

The breakup of imported containers shows 293 of 20's and 354 of 40's loaded while 01 of 20's and 238 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 384 of 20's and 148 of 40's loaded containers while 95 of 20's and 59 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.

There were eight ships namely Irenes Reliance, Hyundai Hong Kong, Wehr Schulau, Nord Spring, Liana, MT Karachi, Red Fin and Han De carrying containers, oil tankers, clinkers and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.

There were six vessels viz. Hyundai Hong Kong, Diyala, Sea Span Melbourne, Theodosia, Nilofer Sultan and Aku Noble carrying containers, oil tankers and fertilizer respectively currently at the berths.

PORT QASIM


A cargo volume of 181,380 tonnes comprising 145,305 tonnes of import cargo and 36,075 tonnes of export cargo including 1,496 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Monday.

The total import cargo of 145,305 tonnes includes 44,462 tonnes of LNG; 60,514 tonnes of coal; 10,000 tonnes of soyabean; 23,600 tonnes of palm oil; 5,380 tonnes of LPG and 1,349 tonnes of containerised cargo.

The total export cargo of 36,075 tonnes includes 9,000 tonnes of cement and 27,075 tonnes of containerised cargo.

As many as 1,496 containers comprising of 71 containers import and 1,425 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday.

There were three ships namely CMA CGM Medea, Magda and Gas Amazon carrying containers, coal and LPG respectively sailed out to sea on Monday morning, while two more ships namely Yasa Sparrow and Gas Zeus carrying coal and LPG respectively are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.

A total number of eleven vessels were occupied berths to load/offload containers, soyabean, coal, cement, LPG, LNG and palm oil respectively at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.

As many as five vessels viz. ER Tianshan, Sakizaya Hero, Ocean Unicorn, Ginga Ocelot and Melati carrying containers, canola, coal, phosphoric acid and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.

There were three ships viz. ER Tianshan, Ginga Ocelot and Gaslog Saratoga carrying containers, phosphoric acid and LNG respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and Engro Elengy Terminal respectively on Monday. There are three ships namely Maersk Chicago, MOL Generosity and Gaslog Saratoga carrying containers and LNG respectively due to arrive on Tuesday.
