The torch relay of the 33rd National Games was launched here at the mausoleum of father of the Nation, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah here on Sunday. Sindh Chief Minister's Adviser on Sports, Bungal Khan and President, Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) Lieutenant General Arif Hasan (retired) jointly handed over the torch to former Olympian of Pakistan, Salahuddin.

POF Secretary General Muhammad Khalid Mehmood, Secretary Sports Sindh Imtiaz Ali Shah, Chairman, Torch Relay Committee Syed Muhammad Abid and the committee member Asif Azeem, Vice President of Sindh Olympic Association Syed Waseem Hashami, representatives of Sports Associations, sportsmen and citizens were also present on the occasion. Legendary player Salahuddin carried the torch from Mazar-e-Quaid to its second destination, Nishan-e-Pakistan Beach View Road Clifton Karachi.

Great Salahuddin handed over the torch to Director Balochistan Sports Board, Dara Baloch and Secretary Balochistan Olympic Association, Sher Muhammad Baloch, to carry it to Quetta. The torch will travel through all the provinces and Islamabad before entering the main venue of the biennial event in Peshawar Sport Complex, on the opening day of the National Games. The 33rd National Games are scheduled from October 26 to November 1 at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
