The Karachi University (KU) Pharmacy Science Club on Wednesday observed World Pharmacist Day at Pharmacy Auditorium, old Pharmacy Building, KU. The theme of the World Pharmacist Day was 'safe and effective medicine for all' which was designated by International Pharmaceutical Federation.
They told the students that International Pharmaceutical Federation developed standards for pharmacy services under the heading 'good practice in community and hospital pharmacy settings' in 1992 whereas the national good pharmacy practice standards was initiated at the Department of Drug Administration in 2003 which was supported by the World Health Organisation.
The representative of High Q, Atif Iqbal, during his presentation emphasised on the qualities a pharmacist must have to become successful. He said that the quality education is also very necessary for a pharmacist. He expressed that a pharmacist should do all his work with integrity and honour. According to him, a pharmacist should go to a pharmaceutical industry equipped with qualities like honesty, sincerity and loyalty.
