This ePay Punjab will entertain all business-to-government (B2G) and public-to-government (P2G) payments. It will allow the citizens of Punjab to pay their taxes using three different electronic payment channels, namely internet/mobile banking, ATM and through over-the-counter (OTC) banking transaction. While addressing the ceremony, the Finance Minister said that we are passing though an age of digitalisation; "It is an opportunity we must fully exploit that can place Pakistan in the ranks of the developed countries".
Talking about the mobile application, he said, "After its launching, our next step is to create awareness about the ePay Punjab system among all section of the society. Our teams will go to the business chambers and educational institutions to educate business community and students on the new payment system. The app will be a success if it is widely used by the people," he added. Bakht averred that the Punjab government's focus to provide transparent system and facilitate people, and this step (ePay Punjab) is in that direction.
