The Karachi Port handled 47,339 tonnes of cargo comprising 24,947 tonnes of import cargo and 22,392 tonnes of export cargo including 1,668 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargos of 24,947 tonnes comprised of 9,208 tonnes of containerised cargo; 13,939 tonnes of DPA and 1,800 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. The total export cargos of 22,392 tonnes comprised of 14,252 tonnes of containerised cargo; 7,540 tonnes of clinkers and 600 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.

As many as 1,668 containers comprising of 742 containers import and 926 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.

The breakup of imported containers shows 122 of 20's and 277 of 40's loaded while 08 of 20's and 29 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 449 of 20's and 237 of 40's loaded containers while 01 of 20's and 01 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.

There were seven ships namely Ever Decent, Kota Karim, Cape Male, Copenhagen Eagle, Oriental Sakura, Luctor and Vinalines Brave carrying containers, oil tankers and clinkers respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.

There were five vessels viz. Kota Karim, Mayssan, APL England, TSM Dubhe and Red Fin carrying containers, oil tanker and clinkers respectively currently at the berths.

PORT QASIM


A cargo volume of 166,897 tonnes comprising 116,414 tonnes of import cargo and 50,483 tonnes of export cargo including 3,524 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.

The total import cargo of 116,414 tonnes includes 28,650 tonnes of coal; 13,248 tonnes of soyabean; 1,572 tonnes of LPG; 53,492 tonnes of diesel oil; 2,979 tonnes of chemical and 16,473 tonnes of containerised cargo.

The total export cargo of 50,483 tonnes includes 50,483 tonnes of containerised cargo.

As many as 3,524 containers comprising of 867 containers import and 2,657 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.

There were four ships namely CPO Hamburg, APL Paris, Nordmed and Chem Singapore carrying containers and chemical respectively sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning, while two ships namely Tomson Gas and MT Khairpur carrying LPG and diesel oil respectively are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.

A total number of nine vessels were occupied berths to load/offload containers, soyabean, coal, chemical, LPG and diesel oil respectively at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.

As many as eight vessels viz. APL Savannah, Ranger, Sakizaya Hero, St Sofia, Great Praise, Ariadne, Magda and Nordic Geneva carrying containers, soyabean, canola, coal and diesel oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.

There were five ships viz. Maersk Selector, APL Savannah, St Sofia, Sam Hawk and Cyprus Galaxy carrying containers, coal and palm oil respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Pakistan International Bulk Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Tuesday.

There are two ships namely Maersk Selector and Sam Hawk carrying containers and coal respectively due to arrive on Tuesday, while another ships namely MOL Grandour carrying containers is due to arrive on Wednesday.
