Under the supervision of Divisional Task Force, the fine of Rs 4.71 million was imposed to the accused involved in manufacturing and sale of spurious and substandard pesticides/fertilizers while 59,000kg/liters fertilizers/pesticides was confiscated and cases were got registered against the eight accused during the current year.

This was informed during the meeting of Divisional Task Force committee for Pesticides/Fertilizers which was presided over by Divisional Commissioner Mehmud Javed Bhatti here on Monday at his committee room. Director Agriculture Ch Abdul Hameed gave the details of actions taken against the accused involved in manufacturing and sale of spurious and substandard pesticides and fertilizers. It was informed that during the monitoring of the prices, the raiding teams checked 1526 dealers and 369 dealers were found involved in overpricing of fertilizers and pesticides. The accused were imposed a fine of Rs 2.139 million and cases were got registered against the 51 violators. While reviewing the performance of task force, the Divisional Commissioner directed for accelerating the departmental actions against the adulteration mafia of pesticides and fertilizers. He said that all out efforts would be mobilized to protect the interest of the farmers.
