To further strengthen ties between China and Pakistan and to facilitate people to people connections between the two countries, His Excellency Yao Jing, Ambassador of China inaugurated the third Chinese Visa Application Service Centre in Lahore. The ceremony was attended by His Excellency Long Dingbin, Consul General of China in Lahore and Yousuf Naseem Khokhar, Chief Secretary of Punjab, Akram Wali Muhammad, Group Managing Director of Gerry's International, officials of the Punjab Government and members of the Chinese-Pakistani business community.

The new Chinese Visa Application Service Center will help to facilitate the business community, students and tourist of Punjab. The visa facilitation service provided by Gerry's Visa offers a comfortable environment, additional value added services and absolute safety and security to the applicants. In addition to visa applications to mainland China, Hong Kong SAR and Macau SAR, the Visa Center also caters to applicants wishing to get their documents attested by Chinese missions.

Gerry's Group Managing Director, Akram Wali Muhammad said, Gerry's aim is to provide the most convenient services augmented with state of the art equipment, in secure and comfortable facilities to ease the visa process for applicants. The new Chinese visa application center brings the application process closer to the residents of Punjab as they do not have to travel to Islamabad or Karachi. Gerry's Group Managing Director expressed his gratitude to the Chinese missions for their support in establishing the Chinese visa application service center.

Wali said Gerry's is extremely proud to have the opportunity to contribute to the deepening of bilateral relations between China and Pakistan. The ease of access will encourage more Pakistanis to travel to China and explore the beautiful sights and vibrant culture of the country and it will have a positive on economic relations, as it will ease the movement of businessmen as well -Wali said.

On the occasion of the inauguration ceremony, the Chinese Ambassador said that the opening of the third Chinese visa application service center is a very important step in strengthening the ties between the two countries, as Lahore and Punjab are the heart of bilateral trade: more than 60 percent of the businessmen travelling from Pakistan to China are from Punjab. The visa center will therefore ease the movement of the business community. The center is the extension of the two governments efforts to ease doing business and to increase people to people connections.

He expressed his hope that the business community of Punjab will take full advantage of the convenience of the new visa center. Ambassador thanked the authorities, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Interior and the Government of Punjab as well as Gerry's for their support and efforts to establish the visa center.

The Chinese Ambassador added that he is very pleased with the efforts made and extended by the Pakistani Government. Lahore, in fact is a very popular destination among Chinese investors due to the positive environment for business and the wealth of resources.

There is ample opportunity to grow cultural relations and mutual understanding, therefore the Chinese Consulate General and the Embassy would like to focus on this area as well, by establishing a Cultural Center in Pakistan's cultural hub - said Ambassador Yao. He also emphasized, that the two countries are looking forward to a bright, shared future.
