President Dr Arif Alvi Friday stressed the need for latest technologies such as Artificial Intelligence for a robust and long term economic growth. Addressing the closing ceremony of three-day IT and Telecom exhibition - ITCN Asia at the Karachi Expo Centre, he highlighted the role of growing worth of Artificial Intelligence and other modern technologies which could transform the digital landscape in the future.

He expressed his intent to equip the next generation with skills of the future and lauded the organizers for executing a conference which could prove to be an intellectual and economic stimulus. Key sessions were arranged on Innovation, Ease of Doing Business, AI and Cyber Security followed by exhibition of innovative technological products by various start-ups and individuals.

Organized by the Ecommerce Gateway Pakistan, the ITCN Asia exhibition provided a platform for many telecom and industry-related companies to display their latest technologies and network with key stakeholders. The event hosted 350 Chinese delegates and over 50 other foreign guests.

The platform enabled Pakistan's talented youth to showcase their skills and for industry players ranging from start-ups to established global companies to network, discuss innovations and conclude business deals and partnerships. As per exhibitor feedback, ITCN Asia is likely to generate business worth USD 150 Million which could be monumental for the economy.

Speaking about the event, Umair Nizam, Vice President & Director of Ecommerce Gateway Pakistan, stated, "Pakistan can witness exponential growth in the IT sector in the coming years. Through effective public private partnership and opening gateways for domestic & international trade, Pakistan's IT industry can transform into one of the most profitable industries."

Ecommerce Gateway also launched its innovative new B2B portal, ecombri.com, which is a unique buyer and seller platform of the Belt Road Initiative (BRI) countries. The platform focuses on enabling small and large scale businesses to transform the way they market & improve efficiencies through provision of technological infrastructure.

It is estimated that this platform will have the potential to enhance IT services exports to $5 billion and non IT export to USD 50 billion in three years. The successful conduction of the 19th edition of ITCN Asia is a testament to the fact that Pakistan's IT industry has immense potential and could be pivotal for sustainable growth.
