Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi Tuesday welcomed Indian Supreme Court's decision regarding the permission to opposition leader Ghulam Nabi Azad to visit the curfew-hit areas of the Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

Chairing the 9th meeting of Advisory Council on Foreign Affairs here at the Foreign Office, the foreign minister welcomed the Indian Supreme Court's decision, adding that the court verdict validates Pakistan's position about the situation in the occupied valley.

Updating the meeting about his Geneva's visit, Qureshi said that the open support of 58 countries on Kashmir dispute through a joint statement in Geneva is of great significance for Pakistan, especially for the Kashmiri people.

Referring to the grave situation in the Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the foreign minister said that millions of innocent Kashmiris have been facing the worst curfew for the past 44 days.
