As many as 147 senior clerks of Sindh Police have been promoted to the post of Assistant BPS-16 on the recommendations of Departmental Promotion Committee. A statement released from Sindh Police said the promotions have been made on the directives of IGP Sindh Dr Syed Kaleem Imam and under the supervision of Dr Aftab Ahmed Pathan, Addl.IGP E&T Sindh, Karachi.

Most of these senior clerks had served in same rank for more than two decades and were waiting for promotion since long. Following is the range wise breakup of the promotions as assistant: Karachi 39, Hyderabad 17, Larkana 11, Sukkur 4, MKS 2, SBA 4, Special Branch 13, Training Branch 8, CTD 9, I.T 2, T&T 4, SRP 6, CPO Sindh 23, Crime branch 1, SSU 1, Security one 1, SPU/CEPEC 1 and the Aviation wing CM house 1.
