Ahmed Al, former Senator Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) had challenged the transfer of the case to Islamabad. The ATC Karachi, which was hearing the case, had ordered for transfer of the case to Islamabad. The decision of the ATC Karachi was challenged on the ground that it couldn't order for the transfer of the case as it can be transferred after approval of Chief Justice SHC. The Counsel for Ahmed Ali contended that trial of a crime should be held at the place where it is occurred.
Following the arguments of the petitioner counsel, Justice Panhwar referred the petition to the Chief Justice against transfer of case. Meanwhile, a division bench sought the replies from appellant and respondents in a petition pertaining to receiving the fee above the approved one by the private schools. The court showed annoyance over the extra fee charged by some of the private schools and ordered Director Schools Education to appear in person to explain about the collection of extra fee, being charged by some of the private schools.
Parents of students, who filed the petition, submitted in the court that private schools were allowed to enhance the fee not more than five percent under the court orders. The court ordered both parties to submit their comments by September 25, 2019.
