Senate Secretariat has clarified a news item carried by Business Recorder on September 4, 2019. The spokesman for the Senate has clarified that the facts are contrary to the titled of the news item. The spokesman said that Leader of the House of the Senate while participating in discussion during Senate Standing Committee on Water Resources meeting held on 03rd September 2019 has said that the AGN Kazi formula is non-controversial, authentic, consensus based and rectified at all forum including Supreme Court. He reiterated his position on the Net Hydel Profit (NHP) to be calculated under AGN Kazi formula.

The spokesman further clarified that the same stance of the Senator Syed Shibli Faraz was reflected in official press release issued on 03rd September 2019 with regard to the said meeting.-PR

The newspaper adds: The headline of the said item may now be read as 'Senator Faraz backs AGN Kazi formula'.
