BRIndex100 lost 6.77 points or 0.22 percent to close at 3,140.86 points. BRIndex100 touched intraday high of 3,210.16 and intraday low of 3,133.83 points. Volumes stood at 140.157 million shares.
BRIndex30 decreased by 38.82 points or 0.24 percent to close at 16,195.56 points with a turnover of 108.449 million shares.
The KSE-100 Index declined by 29.96 points or 0.10 percent to close at 30,214.77 points. Daily trading volumes improved to 146.537 million shares as compared to 128.886 million shares traded Wednesday.
The market capitalization declined by Rs 29 billion to Rs 6.138 trillion. Out of total 342 active scrips, 202 closed in negative, 122 in positive while the value of 18 stocks remained unchanged.
Maple Leaf was the volume leader with 17.169 million shares. However, it lost Re 0.47 to close at Rs 17.73 followed by WorldCall Telecom that closed at Re 0.86, up Rs 0.01 with 12.938 million shares. Colgate Palmolive and Millat Tractors were the top gainers with Rs 87.30 and Rs 28.49, respectively to close at Rs 1,833.46 and Rs 693.61. Nestle Pakistan and Wyeth Pak were the top losers with Rs 304.75 and Rs 17.71, respectively to close at Rs 5,790.25 and Rs 585.79.
BR Automobile Assembler Index increased by 74.39 or 1.57 percent to close at 4,798.80 points with total turnover of 1.721 million shares.
BR Cement Index decreased by 48.73 points or 1.77 percent to close at 2,696.81 points with 36.098 million shares.
BR Commercial Banks Index gained 14.22 points or 0.2 percent to close at 7,210.30 points with 7.455 million shares.
BR Power Generation and Distribution Index surged by 74.27 points or 1.81 percent to close at 4,174.56 points with 6.179 million shares.
BR Oil and Gas Index inched up by 7.67 points or 0.23 percent to close at 3,277.10 points with 13.200 million shares.
BR Tech. & Comm. Index closed at 633.75 points, down 13.66 points or 2.11 percent with 21.280 million shares.
Ahsan Mehanti at Arif Habib Corporation said that the stocks closed lower amid higher trades amid post earning profit taking at PSX. He said concerns loomed over outcome of GIDC resolve for corporate sector after Prime Minister ordered withdrawal of ordinance for hearing in SC.
He said investor concerns over dismal data on 10.5 percent on year-on-year basis CPI Inflation in August 2019 and foreign outflows played a catalyst role in bearish close.
