The total import cargos of 139,863 tonnes comprised of 77,401 tonnes of containerised cargo; 2,101 tonnes of bulk cargo; 4,452 tonnes of soyabean seeds; 2,929 tonnes of palm kernel expeller and 52,900 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargos of 57,936 tonnes comprised of 39,470 tonnes of containerised cargo; 400 tonnes of bulk cargo; 18,066 tonnes of clinkers and nil tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
As many as 9,939 containers comprising of 5,610 containers import and 4,329 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Wednesday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 1,491 of 20's and 1,789 of 40's loaded while 55 of 20's and 243 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 971 of 20's and 594 of 40's loaded containers while 616 of 20's and 777 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were four three ships namely CMA CGM Lamartine, KMTC Mumbai, Star N and Porthos carrying containers, oil tanker and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were six vessels viz. OOCL Chicago, Colette, Hyundai Tacoma, Camila Spirit, SC Brilliant and C Rock carrying containers and oil tankers respectively currently at the berths.
Q?A cargo volume of 216,233 tonnes comprising 205,923 tonnes of import cargo and 10,310 tonnes of export cargo including 2,850 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Wednesday.
The total import cargo of 205,923 tonnes includes 73,859 tonnes of coal; 42,083 tonnes of LNG; 11,745 tonnes of palm oil; 6,000 tonnes of canola; 11,887 tonnes of chemical and 50,350 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 10,310 tonnes includes 6,510 tonnes of rice and 3,800 tonnes of containerised cargo.
As many as 2,850 containers comprising of 2,650 containers import and 200 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Wednesday.
There was one ship namely Bhai Ravi carrying chemical sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning, while another ship namely Chemroad Hope carrying palm oil is expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of twelve vessels were occupied berths to load/offload containers, coal, rice, canola, chemical, LNG, diesel oil and palm oil respectively at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
As many as five vessels viz. Porthos, IVS Swinley Forest, Gulf Horizon, Maritime Riyal and Silver Emily carrying general cargo, coal, mogas and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were three ships viz. MOL Generosity, Porthos and Silver Emily carrying containers, general cargo and palm oil respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Wednesday.
There was one ship namely MOL Generosity carrying containers due to arrive on Wednesday, while two more ships namely Maersk Bentonville and Prague Express carrying containers are due to arrive on Thursday.
