The total export cargos of 25,307 tonnes comprised of 19,872 tonnes of containerised cargo; 2,585 tonnes of clinkers and 2,850 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 5,102 containers comprising of 3,370 containers import and 1,732 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday. The breakup of imported containers shows 926 of 20's and 1,222 of 40's loaded while nil of 20's and nil of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 555 of 20's and 346 of 40's loaded containers while 25 of 20's and 230 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were four ships namely Wan Hai-611, Xin Hong Kong, Szczecin Trader and Gravity carrying containers and DAP respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. There were four vessels viz. MOL Grandeur, YM Excelent, CSCL Asia and MT Karachi carrying containers and oil tanker respectively currently at the berths.
A cargo volume of 129,205 tonnes comprising 102,377 tonnes of import cargo and 26,828 tonnes of export cargo including 2,353 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Friday.
The total import cargo of 102,377 tonnes includes 27,885 tonnes of coal; 29,167 tonnes of LNG; 6,900 tonnes of palm oil; 9,511 tonnes of chemical; 5,335 tonnes of canola and 23,579 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 26,828 tonnes includes 26,828 tonnes of containerised cargo.
As many as 2,353 containers comprising of 1,241 containers import and 1,112 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday.
There were four ships namely AS Paola, CMA CGM Titus, Iliana and Sea Harvest carrying containers, coal and chemical respectively expected to sail on Friday afternoon.
A total number of eleven vessels were occupied berths to load/offload containers, general cargo, rice, coal, canola, chemical, LNG and palm oil respectively at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
As many as five vessels viz. Jaeger, Magic Wand, Lia, Chemroad Hope and Silver Emily carrying coal, crude oil, diesel oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were two ships viz. Jaeger and Magic Wand carrying coal and crude oil respectively expected to take berths at Pakistan International Bulk Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Friday.
There is one ship namely Safmarine Ngami carrying containers due to arrive on Saturday.
