The SC bench headed by Justice Sajjad Ali Shah also cautioned that the Sindh government would be responsible for all consequences if the court orders were not implemented by the deadline.
One of the petitioners Dr. Ali Nawaz Malah told the court that he was sent to jail after he approached the court for his rights. Dr. Malah and Justice Sajjad Ali Shah indulged in arguments, which even led the latter to issue stern warning to the former. "The court would send you to jail if you misbehaved in the court room," justice Shah warned.
Justice Shah appeared calm when Malah submitted before the court that the Sindh government imposed a ban on his entry in provincial secretariat. Additional Advocate General Sindh informed the court that the authority for promotion of officials in 18 & 19 grades rests with Chief Secretary and Chief Minister has the authority to promote 19-20 grade. He told the court that provincial government has started action about promotions and assured that the job would be done in one month.
