The recently established philanthropic organisation has initially installed two water treatment units, reverse osmosis (RO) plants each with capacity of providing 5,000 gallons of water per day among the residents of densely populated Shanti Nagar of the metropolis.
HIF CEO Hamid M Ismail told Business Recorder that 5 more RO plants, each with treatment capacity of 10,000 gallons per day are in pipeline, at the same area.
Sharing his futures plans, Ismail said nearly two dozen RO plants would also be set up for the city dwellers, as necessary permissions from the concerned government departments like Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KW&SB), Deputy Commissioners (DCs) and District Municipal Corporations (DMCs) have been acquired.
He said Saylani welfare trust has partnered with HIF with providing the RO Plants.
Most of us are privileged enough and don't suffer from the kind of crucial problems that a larger percentage of our country does. "Considering the fact, we have started providing basic necessities like water, vocational training, better education and a way of respite for the kids belonging to underprivileged backgrounds as per our capabilities and resources," he said.
The both foundations are also working on imparting technical education amongst the youths belonging to poor families in the underprivileged city neighbourhoods.

Besides, the foundation organized free medical camps, and sports activities in the city.
The move would bring positive change in the lives of people deprived of the basic necessities of life.
Hamid was of the view that citizens would not suffer from bacterial diseases such as diarrhea, cholera, dysentery, typhoid, and polio, if they are provided with clean drinking water - the main source of survival.
The foundation has recently organised a job fair in the city. The move helped providing lower cadre jobs amongst 100 youths mainly riders for private companies in the city.
Ismail said he has always been putting his endeavours towards the greater good. Charity is a necessity for the majority of us, and it needs to be a crucial part of all of our life goals.
Being one of the most affected countries by an acute water shortage, it is mind-numbing how many people within our nation don't have clean, drinking water. For now, my immediate mission is to provide water to anyone who doesn't have access to it at least in Karachi.
