Sindh Minister of Information & Labour Saeed Ghani on Tuesday presided over a meeting of Sindh Employees of Social Security. Secretary Labour Abdul Rasheed Solangi, Commissioner SESSI Kashf Gulzar, Vice Commissioner Safdar Hussain Razvi and other officers participated in the meeting.

The meeting comprehensively briefed to the minister about the functions and sections of the organization. Ghani said that the Sindh government wanted that SESSI must play its vital role to provide maximum health facilities to the workers.

He said that SESSI should take concrete steps for the provision of health facilities to the labour class. He directed to improve the standard of health services of those hospitals which come under the administrative control of SESSI. The minister directed that the collection of Social Security Contribution which is 6% must be ensured because it is the only source to meet expenditures of SESSI.

Earlier Commissioner SESSI Gulzar Shaikh while giving briefing to the minister said that latest CT scan machine has been installed in Valika Hospital which completes scanning in least possible time. The installed machine is the third one as compared to Aga Khan Hospital and Dow University Hospital. He said that in the history of SESSI it is first time that facilities like hysterogram for women patients whereas endoscopy suits established in Landhi hospital.

The minister was informed that laboratories in all the hospitals have been automated and construction of SESSI hospital in Sukkur is completed. The meeting was informed that construction of Nursing School and Emergency Centre at Valika Hospital and Landhi Hospital is in progress while in construction in Ghotki of 25 bedded hospital is under process.-PR
