Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) Chairman Syed Mustafa Kamal on Tuesday came hard on Mayor Karachi Wasim Akthar for denotifying him as City's Project Director Garbage" and described the rampant corruption the sole reason behind non lifting of garbage from the metropolis. Speaking at a press conference after Mayor Karachi suspended him as "Project Director Garbage" only after one day of assigning him the responsibility, Kamal said that he had started the planning to clean the city after he was tasked with the responsibility.

He said that he has started the calls and messages for support to lift the garbage immediately after he was assigned the responsibility. "Everyone assured me of their support for the betterment of the city," Kamal claimed. "I told some of NGOs to wait for starting the task. I called municipal commissioner to inform him about the sweepers outside Asghar Shah Stadium from where the cleanliness drive was to kick off," the PSP chief revealed.

He said that he was removed hours after was tasked with the responsibility and said that he knew that he was to be removed as the intention was not based on sincerity. "I even accepted Mayor Karachi as my boss and was ready to work under his command for the welfare of the people of the city," Kamal stated. The PSP chief recalled that he left a developed city, for which I worked hard by carrying out the work for infrastructure, water and sewerage projects. He dismissed the notion of doing the work for political gains and said that the simple reason behind my efforts to provide relief to the people of the city, which are suffering at the hands of bad governance in the city.
