He was speaking as the chief guest at the 17th international exhibition of plastics, printing, 'PLASTI & PACK' and 16th international exhibition of food & beverage processing and packaging, 'IFTECH Pakistan,' inaugurated on Tuesday here at Karachi Expo Centre.
Daroo Khan said industrialisation is need of the hour as such events are vital to bring new technology and upgrade the export-oriented units so that they could be able to compete outer world and maintain their export market abroad.
The event organisers Pegasus Consultancy MD Aamer Khanzada said on the occasion Plasti & Pack and IFTECH is the regular feature of the organisers and despite all odds and slowing down economy, the mega event is being held with more enthusiastic and greater spirit in order to extend the local industries to compete in the international markets.
In order to extend information and introduce latest technology, he said seminars on the subjects are also being organised side by side wherein technology and trade experts would appraise the latest trends in this sector and suggest the local manufacturers how to get more value of their products in the international markets.
The chief guest later on inaugurated the show by cutting the ribbon in a ceremony. The leading international and local companies have set up their stalls for displaying latest machinery and equipment in the 3-day extravaganza as over 300 exhibitors from 35 countries are participating in the event.

A two days conference and forum on the second and third day of the exhibition has been planned on global food technology conference based on the theme, 'Future Food Tech, Reshaping the Industry Outlook," will be held on the second day, simultaneously on third day there will be an international annual packaging forum, based on the theme, 'State of Converting, Recycling & Sustainable Packaging'.
