The total export cargos of 20,721 tonnes comprised of 20,721 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 8,630 containers comprising of 3,768 containers import and 4,862 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 1,199 of 20's and 1,106 of 40's loaded while 333 of 20's and 12 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 482 of 20's and 291 of 40's loaded containers while 668 of 20's and 1,565 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours. There were two ships carrying containers and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were six vessels carrying containers, oil tankers and soyameal respectively currently at the berths.
A cargo volume of 156,635 tonnes comprising 141,435 tonnes of import cargo and 15,200 tonnes of export cargo including 1,555 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Friday. The total import cargo of 141,435 tonnes includes 48,878 tonnes of diesel oil; 60,900 tonnes of coal; 1,972 tonnes of palm oil; 700 tonnes of soyabean; 5,360 tonnes of palm kernel; 12,904 tonnes of chemical and 14,345 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 15,200 tonnes includes 15,200 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 1,555 containers comprising of 755 containers import and 800 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday.
There were six ships namely Hansa America, Maina, Ginga Tiger, Ocean Galaxy, Al-Salam-II and Horizon carrying containers, coal, chemical, palm kernel, diesel oil and palm oil respectively expected to sail on Friday afternoon. A total number of ten vessels were occupied berths to load/offload containers, coal, soyabean, chemical, diesel oil, palm kernel and palm oil respectively at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
As many as fifteen vessels viz. Maersk Jalan, AS Paola, Da Zhe, Spring Melody, IVS Wentworth, IVS Narou, Abu Al-Abyad, BBG Integrity, Beat Rice, Tiger Harmony, Cela Nova, Chemroad Nova, Gaslog Shanghai, Theresa Success and NCC Dammam carrying containers, general cargo, coal, canola seeds, chemical, LNG and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours. There were seven ships viz. AS Paola, CMA CGM Butterfly, Abu Al-Abyad, Beat Rice, Tiger Harmony, Gaslog Shanghai and Theresa Success carrying containers, coal, chemical, LNG and palm oil respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Pakistan International Bulk Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal, Engro Elengy Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Friday. There was one ship namely CMA CGM Butterfly carrying containers due to arrive on Friday.
