Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Revenue Authority (KPRA) has notified the reduction in several rates of sales tax on services and granted concessions to encourage investments, promote social welfare and uplift economic justice and equity in the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Consequent upon 18th Constitutional Amendment, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Revenue Authority (KPRA) has collected more than Rs50 billion on head of sales tax on services, according to a press statement issued here on Wednesday.

The administrative control of KPRA earlier remained with Excise & Taxation Department. Keeping in view the importance of KPRA in the overall provincial resource mobilization, KPRA has recently been placed under the administrative control of the Finance Department.

In the context of KPRA, the outgoing financial year of 2018-19 can be called a year of institutional reforms, organizational strengthening and compliance enforcement through IT system-supported desk audit, physical survey and direct monitoring.

The statement said that the purpose-specific technical assistance has been received from different international expert sources to revamp and modernize the legal frameworks, build up technical human resource and develop strategic planning for tax policy and physical expansion of KPRA.
