Local police have registered a first information report (FIR) in connection with murder of social media activist Muhammad Bilal Khan, 22, and started investigation. Karachi Company police station registered the FIR on the complaint of Abdullah, the father of the deceased, under Sections 302, 304 and 34 of Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) and Section 7 of Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA).

According to the complaint, Abdullah said he was at his cousin's house in Bhara Kahu when at around 9:30pm, he received a call from his cousin Ehtesham that he and Bilal had been attacked and injured by unidentified individuals at sector G-9/4. He said when he reached Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), his son had passed away and his body had marks of sharp-edged weapon. He asked police to take action against the suspects who had killed his son and injured his cousin.
