According to sources, the report says that the attitude of police officials at the police station was inappropriate. The city police have already registered first information report (FIR) against Sub-Inspector Muhammad Abbas Rana, SHO Shehzad Town police station and other police officials under Section 166 (Public servant disobeying law with intent to cause injury to any person) of the Pakistan Penal Code.
The report says that Polyclinic hospital is not responsible for the delay in conducting autopsy of the body because the medico legal officers (MLO) do not remain on duty at nights in the hospital.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (HQs) Bilawal Abro has recorded the statements of SHO, Investigation Officer (IO), father of deceased, relatives, neighbors, person who spotted body and MLO of Polyclinic. Farishta was allegedly kidnapped by some unknown persons from Alipur village on May 15 and her body was found from a green area on May 20. According to the application by Ghulam Nabi, the father of the deceased girl, had lodged a missing person's report a day after his daughter disappeared on May 15 as he feared she had been abducted.
Nabi alleged that instead of filing an FIR and trying to recover Farishta, the SHO told him that she must have eloped. He also accused the Shahzad Town police station's personnel of making him sweep the station.
Following the allegations levelled by the deceased girl's relatives against the police, the ICT Admin had appointed Additional Deputy Commissioner (HQs) Bilawal Abro to conduct the judicial inquiry and furnish a detailed report within a week.
