Son of an editor of local news agency went missing from Karachi last Friday and could not be traced out despite hectic efforts. According to family sources, the twenty-five-year old Muhammad Shafaat, son of Shafqat Ali Soomro, left his home at Sachal Goth, Suparco Road Karachi for a textile industry located at SITE Karachi, where he was getting training as an internee mechanical engineer on Friday, May 10, 2019 but did not reach his workplace or return home. The motorcycle, he was riding, is untraceable and his cell phone number powered off. The authorities including the police and CPLC are keeping mum. "We request the journalist fraternity to raise voice for the safe recovery of our son," they said.

They said that an FIR in this regard has been lodged at Sachal police station. Citizens Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) has also been informed about the incident. However, there is no clue about the missing youth.

The family is afraid that their son might be kidnapped, picked up or got disappeared by some unknown persons for the reasons not known to them.

They have appealed to Prime Minister Imran Khan, Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, Governor Imran Ismail, IGP Sindh Police, DG Rangers and all law enforcing agencies concerned to help in safe recovery of the missing young man.
