President Hameed Haroon and Secretary General Sarmad Ali of the All Pakistan Newspapers Society (APNS) Saturday welcomed the appointment of Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan as Special Assistant on Information and Broadcasting, Government of Pakistan and hoped that during her tenure in office, the cordial relations between the federal government and All Pakistan Newspapers Society will be more strengthened.

The APNS expressed confidence that during her tenure, the APNS would enjoy assistance and cooperation in addressing the unresolved issues of the newspaper industry, says a press release.-PR
