According to preliminary report compiled by the NDMA, which is based on the information received from Provincial Disaster Management Authorities (PDMAs), the flash flood damaged 2,546 houses in Balochistan.
The NDMA on behalf of the federal government has provided 5,251 tents, 13,000 blankets, 20,000 plastic carpets and 2,500 tubs to the rain-hit areas of Balochistan province.
Chairman NDMA in response to the request of the Balochistan government had directed Logistic Directorate to immediately dispatch a consignment of ten thousand food bags to Balochistan.
Eight thousand ration bags have been handed over to the deputy commissioner Uthal while remaining two thousand bags are given to the district administration Khuzdar. Each of these ration bag contains rice, ghee, pulses, sugar, dry milk, tea, match boxes and other essential food items along with a 20kg flour (Atta) bag each.
Earlier, prior to the recent rains spell, the NDMA had also dispatched non-food items to Balochistan government which included five thousand tents, over 20,000 blankets, twenty thousand plastic mats, twenty five hundreds buckets/bath tubs, three hundred tarpaulin and eighty water coolers to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Balochistan, as an advance precautionary arrangement.
