Addressing the senior party leadership here on Monday, Emir JI Siraj-ul-Haq said that Indian Prime Minister Modi is regularly hurling threats at Pakistan and is preparing for war, while on the other side the Pakistani government is feeling content by simply issuing one or two statements.
Haq said that the government should have immediately called a joint session of the Parliament and convene an APC to take the nation into confidence and ensure adequate defence of the county as well as its solidarity.
He said that the involvement of all the political parties in the national defence would have sent clear message to the enemy. Emir of the JI Northern Punjab, Dr Tariq Saleem, also spoke on the occasion.
While lambasting the move of Organisation of Islamic Countries (OIC) to invite India as chief guest at OIC moot, Haq said that it is a complete failure of Pakistan's foreign policy, a matter of shame and seemingly all Muslim countries are under India's pressure.
The JI emir added that for the first time, India has been invited as chief guest at the OIC moot, adding that the Indian foreign minister would be addressing the Muslim world's representatives.
It is an irony that the country against whom there are all the complaints, would be occupying the chair of the special guest at the OIC. He said that Pakistan should have boycotted the OIC moot in protest.
Commenting on the internal situation of the country, the JI emir said that the PTI talked of the State of Medina but the government has just added to the miseries of the masses in the shape of ever increasing price hike, rise in POL prices and inflated power bills. He said all this shows that the government is talking of the Medina state in a derogatory sense, making a mockery of it.
Haq impressed upon the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to proceed against the accused while remaining within the limits of law, saying that arresting someone without solid evidence is unjustified. He said that violating sanctify of the House caused hatred and provincial prejudices. He said every Pakistani wants accountability but the government is targeting politicians.
The JI emir said that nobody has been happy with the working of the government so far, adding that hatred has been increasing in the provinces against the centre. He said that the provincial prejudices would harm the national unity and unanimity. He disapproved the arrest of the Sindh Assembly speaker in Islamabad and said this is an improper step.
Haq said that the Panama Leaks had 436 names, besides Nawaz Sharif, but no action has been taken against them so far. He said the Jamaat-e-Islami wants all the plunderers to be brought to the book and the public money be recovered from them.
He said that the government is once again seeking the International Monetary Fund (IMF) loans, which implies that it is not willing to adopt the policy of self-reliance.
