While cardiac treatment of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, who is in Jinnah Hospital for the last one week, is yet to be started, members of the Sharif family visited the hospital to enquire after his health. Nawaz Sharif's mother Shamim Akhter, Shahbaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz visited the hospital and inquired about the health of Nawaz Sharif. The PML-N workers were also present at the hospital who chanted slogans on arrival of members of Sharif family.

Talking to media after arriving at the hospital, Shahbaz Sharif said that Nawaz Sharif's patriotism cannot be doubted. Shamim Akhter said she is praying for her son's early recovery.

A five-member special medical board of the Jinnah Hospital that examined Nawaz submitted its report to the Punjab government. As per the board recommendations, "the patient (Nawaz Sharif), 69, needs cardiac catheterization, for further management, in view of his symptoms of angina. Because of complicated cardiac surgical history, a nephrologists and cardiac surgical back up is recommended during the catch.
