The total export cargos of 65,800 tonnes comprised of 36,025 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,240 tonnes of bulk cargo; 25,735 tonnes of clinker and 2,800 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 8,272 containers comprising of 5,705 containers import and 2,567 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Wednesday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 1,499 of 20's and 1,900 of 40's loaded while 16 of 20's and 195 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 1,114 of 20's and 376 of 40's loaded containers while 145 of 20's and 278 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were four ships namely KMTC Dubai, Mayssan, MT Karachi and TRF Kristansand carrying containers and oil tankers respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. There were six vessels viz. OOCL Shanghai, ER Felixstowe, Irenes Reliance, KMTC Dubai, Chemocean Leo and Beach Galaxy carrying containers and oil tankers respectively currently at the berths.
A cargo volume of 188,842 tonnes comprising 180,957 tonnes of import cargo and 7,885 tonnes of export cargo including 2,016 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Wednesday. The total import cargo of 180,957 tonnes includes 30,500 tonnes of diesel oil; 14,000 tonnes of palm oil; 82,330 tonnes of coal; 3,208 tonnes of chemical; 20,500 tonnes of LNG and 30,419 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 7,885 tonnes includes 7,885 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 2,016 containers comprising of 1,601 containers import and 415 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Wednesday. There was one ship namely MV Clipper Helen carrying chemical sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning, while five more ships namely MV Pacific Activity, MV Vita Harmony, MT Caspion Gas, MT Hong Ze Hue and MT Chemroad Dita carrying coal, LPG, diesel oil anf palm oil respectively are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
There is one ship namely CV MOL Gateway carrying containers expected to sail at night hours. A total number of ten vessels were occupied berths to load/offload containers, coal, chemical, palm kernel, LPG, LNG, diesel oil and palm oil respectively at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
As many as sixteen vessels viz. CV MOL Gateway, CV Maersk Chicago, MV Hong Yuan, MV Bottiglieri Franco, MV Asia Emerald-IV, MV El Matador, MV Port Macau, MV Valvovine, MV Ikan Pulass, MV Hou Yoshi Park, MV Nordic Bulker-2, MT BW Tiger, MT Spica, MT Ginga Jaguar, MT Globe Glory and MT Gao Cheng-2 respectively carrying containers, soyabean, coal, chemical, rice, diesel oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were six vessels viz. CV Maersk Chicago, CV MOL Gateway, MV El Matador, MV Port Macau, MV Hou Yoshi Park and MT Globe Glory carrying containers, coal, chemical and palm oil respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Pakistan International Bulk Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Wednesday. There are two ships namely CV GSL Tianjin and CV Maersk Bentonville carrying containers due to arrive on Thursday.
