The federal government on Saturday announced a public holiday in the federal capital on Monday (February 18) during the visit of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to the country. According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Interior, all the offices of the federal government and federal secretariat situated on the Constitution Avenue, Islamabad, will remain closed on Monday (February 18), except the essential staff of the ministries, divisions and departments including Ministry of Interior, Finance, Cabinet, Foreign Affairs, President Secretariat and the Prime Minister Office.

Another notification issued by the deputy commissioner Islamabad said that February 18 has been declared as a local holiday within the revenue limits of Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration except the office of essential services in Islamabad, including Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI), Capital Development Authority (CDA), ICT Administration, ICT Police, Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO), Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) and hospitals.

As per notification issued by the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, all private educational institutions operating within the limits of ICT will also remain closed on Monday (February 18).
