The task force on power theft is acting arbitrarily in disconnecting power supply to the areas where complaints of power theft are in rampant which is causing problems to those who are lawful consumers of electricity. The consumers are forced to live without electricity until the task force allows to restore the supplies.

They said the Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) employees at various circles are themselves involved in power theft in connivance with consumers. As and when the task force comes into action, the concerned staff cut power supplies and removes transformers. The general consumers are paying for the illegal activities of a few influential involved in power theft.

The innocent consumers are paying electricity bills regularly and are not involved in power theft but they are forced to pay through nose for the wrongdoings of those involved in power theft. They have urged Federal Minister for Power Division Umar Ayub to take stock of the situation and direct the Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) staff to reinstall transformers in the villages located at the bank of River Sutlej.
