The special secretary National Assembly Secretariat welcomed the members and briefed about the procedure for election of the chairman. Ali Nawaz Awan proposed the name of Nawab Yousuf Talpur as chairman of the committee while Farooq Azam Malik seconded his candidature. Accordingly, Nawab Yousuf Talpur was unanimously elected as chairman of the Standing Committee on Water Resources.
The chairman expressed his gratitude to the members for posing confidence in him and assured them to run the business of the committee with consensus.
The members while appreciating views of the chairman assured him their fullest support in the process of legislation. The meeting was attended by MNAs Fazal Muhammad Khan, Ali Nawaz Awan, Ch Shoukat Ali Bhatti, Muhammad Farooq Azam Malik, Nooreen Farooq Khan and others.
